The
Eastcoast Canoe Company is owned and operated by Bob van Deudekom,
a woodworker and canoe builder for over 20 years. At Eastcoast Canoes
we build canoes designed to address the needs of the recreation,
outdoors, and sports communities. These canoe designs have been
developed over the past 100 – 120 years in the great canoe
building centers of the Maritimes, Maine, and central Canada. The
Eastcoast Canoe Company offers full repair services as well as restorations
of vintage canoes, preserving a canoe building tradition of well
over 100 years. |

The
following is a list of questions to help you prioritize the features
you require in a canoe. Keep in mind, a single canoe design addressing
all canoe requirements does not exist. Determining your priorities
in advance will save time and confusion in your search for the right
canoe.
Your
priority list:
1.
Tandem or Solo canoe?
2. What is your current skill level?
3. What do you expect your skill level to be in two years
from now?
4. How much white water will you paddle?
5. What is the typical weight you expect your canoe to carry?
Arrange
the following in order of greatest importance:
1. Aesthetics
2. Stability
3. Durability
4. Maintenance
5. Speed
6. Controllability
7. Weight
8. Whitewater ability
9. Price |
